Among the features offered in the Nexans app, the Liban Cables mobile authentication technology stands out as the simplest and most reliable solution. Although our collaboration has been ongoing for several years, we are proud to finally spotlight this shared journey and the significant results it has produced.

Counterfeiting remains one of the most pressing challenges in the cable industry. Fake products compromise safety, damage brand reputation, and erode customer trust. Recognizing these risks early, Liban Cables implemented the authentication technology to ensure that each product leaving its factories could be tracked and verified instantly and reliably.

Through secure, tamper-evident labels and a mobile-based authentication system, Liban Cables now offers customers full transparency: every cable can be verified as genuine, safe, and traceable. This technology not only empowers end-users — it also provides Liban Cables with real-time insights into market activity.

Shortly after launching the program, Authentic Vision’s security technology detected a large-scale attempt to copy Liban Cables’ product labels.

Each Holographic Fingerprint™ is unique, impossible to copy and inherently tamper-evident. Whenever a label is duplicated or reused, the system automatically triggers an alert—allowing Liban Cables to immediately see suspicious activity.

These alerts appeared almost right after the rollout of the program. A single fraudulently reproduced identifier—placed on counterfeit products—generated thousands of scans across Lebanon. This clearly showed the scale of the counterfeiting operation. With Authentic Vision’s technology, Liban Cables was able to combine scan data with location information to pinpoint shops and distributors involved in selling fake goods.

While the total number of product authentications continued to grow steadily thanks to increased consumer engagement, the proportion of counterfeit-related scans has dropped dramatically since the peak in 2023.

In early 2025, Liban Cables confirmed the progress:
